The Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park Visitor Center will offer visitors a memorable experience. The exhibits will immerse the visitor into the life of Tubman, beginning with her childhood in Maryland, her emancipation from slavery, her time as a conductor on the Underground Railroad and finally ending with her continuous advocacy for justice. The 15,000 square-foot LEED silver rated center will include state-of-the-art green elements including: a green roof, recycled materials, energy efficient lighting and water conservation devices. A gift shop will round out the visitor experience.
